She Became Unconscious During Tawaf!

We were three companions seeking the face of our lord when we stumbled upon a lady who appeared stressed, restless, and suddenly became unconscious. This is evidenced by her falling right in front of us on the ground. I recall she was yelling and crying out loud before she lay bare flat on the floor, right in between Tawaf where thousands are circumambulating. I am not sure what went wrong. I am yet to fully understand it. I was thinking it may be the heat or shortness of breath from hypoxemia which affects the brain. Perhaps she wanted to touch the K’aaba or have just experienced touching it. Most people die within 10 minutes of total oxygen deprivation. She was diaphoretic (sweating profusely) due to the heat. I immediately loosed her gown to prevent airway constriction.

It was Shaykh Akim Kutubi that first saw her and we immediately rushed to assist her. I checked to make sure she had a pause through the carotid artery whilst Al-Imam was yelling out for help. He was speaking out loud in Arabic so that we could get more help to carry her beautiful soul away from being stepped over. I am not sure they heard us. Or simply say, no one wants to stop their tawaf.

l told my son, carry her, don’t be tired. Three of us were struggling whilst we continued to carry this lady to an open place for fresh air and safety. I continued to check that she still had a pause. After some minutes, the police joined us helping to clear the road and open the closed barriers. One or two other men said we understood her language and they offered to assist us.

At this time, we were at a safe place and people were pouring water on her. I was worried about the water they were pouring into her mouth. It may go to the wrong place(the lungs). So, we had her sit down on a chair whilst she became conscious and able to answer our calls. Shayk Kutubi and I said, we have been hearing this happen to people but never experienced it until that day.

I was happy we were able to ‘save a soul.’ May Allah accept it. I didn’t write to show you our deeds in Ka’aba. This is just me sharing my experience with you. The passion for helping others in my two companions amazed me. They were bold, strong, and determined. They never left her until she regained consciousness. May Allah grant them Jannah through it. May He not deprive us of the reward therein.

Lessons:

  1. Women are not like men when it comes to Tawaf.
  2. Always be there to render help to others. Put others before yourself.
  3. Go for Umrah/Hajj if you have the means before you become weak.
  4. You will not die except by Allah’s leave and upon your predestined time and land.
  5. Have it in mind that death may come to you even during Tawaf. So, ask Allah for forgiveness and Jannah during your Tawaf and not just about the matters of Dunya.

Unusual Signs and Symptoms

Poverty and ignorance in our dear country are other factors to talk about. A man who starts to feel the usual in his body system refuses to go for a check-up because of money.

Perhaps, if not for ignorance, he wouldn’t have neglected the unusual signs and symptoms until they worsened.  Except in cases where they won’t attempt to attend to him until he makes a consultant payment.  And that makes it more difficult for people in that category.

Still, always make a consultation about your health even if it’s a headache. Persistent headaches may be a tumor in your brain and may be a sign of stroke or bleeding in your brain.  And it may just be an ordinary stress and lifestyle changes you may need to make and adopt.

Anytime you notice the unusual, always seek medical help. Please, always.  Don’t wait and not talk about it.  Please, talk about it.  Seek medical help and allow Allah to take care of the rest.

I have lost many people due to this. We need more healthcare awareness to curb this menace. I am working to be part of those who will save more lives. May Allah make it successful.

Ramadan 2024 Eclipse Picture

Muslim in Ramadan and Muslim of All-times

Ikhwaan fillah, we have been blessed.  We have been given the huge opportunity to witness the month of Ramadan. We were encouraged to live a life of obedience, humbleness, and fulfilling the promise made to our Rabb. The learned one had said: “May Allah have mercy upon the one who has tried working righteous action and living a life of obedience.”

I believe that we all have worked so hard this month to seek the face of Allah. Allah ta’ala mentioned in the Noble Quran: “We have not created men and jinn except for them to worship me.” Learn to know the importance of not being a believer only in the month of Ramadhaan – we should tend to ask ourselves, do l only eat in Ramadan? Only take a shower in Ramadan? Only meet with my partner in Ramadan? And of course, only seek to make ends meet in Ramadan? So, we should fear Allah who does not only exist in Ramadan.

It becomes a fitnah and of course, the way of giving way to shaitan to sit on our hearts while allowing our whims and desires to take a huge control over us, If we are among those who only observe salaat, only use Jilbaab and only visit Masjid in the month of Ramadan.

Remember, Allah is the Lord who does not sleep nor slumber, and we all have angels who are on standby to write our good and bad deeds. Abdullaah Ibn Mas’ud mentioned that:  “l dislike to see an idle man, doing nothing for Dunya( by the way of taking care of his family ) and of course not preparing for the Hereafter.

He (ibn Mas’ud ) also mentioned in another hadith, “l used to dislike that the sun was setting over me, and l did not increase in the action that l was already doing. It is indeed upon you, to use five before you are overtaken by five. Your life before death, your wealth before you become poor, your health before you become sick, your youthful age before you become old, and Your Free time before you are pre-occupied.

Ikhwaan fillah, let this Ramadan be a Ramadan that will help you to work righteous deeds, increase in seeking the pleasure of Allah, and of course continue doing good actions and deeds in the later months. Shaitan is chained in the month of Ramadan. Do not have the mindset of taking him as your master when Ramadan ends. Seek help in Allah throughout this month, and ask that He make you fulfill your promise to be a good servant forever.

Our sisters are encouraged to keep their Ijabs while fulfilling the rights of their husbands and the brothers are also advised to hold on to the rope of Allah without falling short willingly. We have been called and reminded, for reminder benefits a believer and we are also advised not to be carried away by Dunya after Ramadan.

Live your life as a traveler and remember you will not live forever. A day shall come when you will wish all days are like the days of Ramadan. May Allah keep you well and safe. Ameen.

Oh, Believing Sisters

While you work pretty hard to look beautiful, and much harder to promote your business and brand,  l ask, how much effort do you put into seeking the face of your lord?

See, it’s important to strike a balance between both. Once you are gone, your beauty will not do you any good. But, your dedication towards seeking Allah’s face will be of great assistance to you.

So, while you wake up thinking of the route to take, be sure you also add to your to-do list, what it means to prepare for death, the inevitable.  After all, your body will eventually be consumed by the grave – a place of loneliness. Have dunya in your hand and not your heart.

Patience in Worshipping Allah

Most Women Are Forbearing

It takes a lot of patience and endurance for any marriage to survive the trials and challenges of life. Yes, there are times you question your existence in the marriage. As in, why me? Why do l have to be the one to do this? It is during that vulnerable time that Shaitan finds his way to your heart – wanting you to call it a day. He probably whispers to your ears that there are better men out there. Sadly, all that glitters is not gold. Your husband may be better than them little do you know.

Most women are forbearing, but not with a man who does not respect, value, or appreciate them. Men are supposed to be the leaders of their households. And it’s understandable if a man becomes financially incapacitated. What is reasonable to ask is how are you to your household before now.

In all, prayer is always needed. But, do not just rely on that. Allah truly wants you to put in a great effort. So do your family. It’s important to keep your leadership role no matter how little.

Women should learn to cut their clothes accordingly. Be a woman who cries to Allah and do not compare your marriage with that of your friends. Try to always keep your home. Do not be quick to seek for divorce. No marriage is free from trials. May Allah ease the affairs of our homes.

The One Who Loves Allah

This is someone who makes solid clarification before venturing into anything – before laying his hands barely on anything.  When you love Allah, you thank Him for the good and the bad.

You go to Allah, first and foremost in gratitude for the mercy He bestowed upon you and the blessing He put in your life and businesses. Perhaps having to do Sujud Shukr for the good news. You also have to rush to him when calamity befalls you before you start calling friends and family in regret and sorrow.

Everything and anything that happens to you in life should always be referred back to Allah, first and foremost.  It’s a sign that you love Allah.  And Allah will love you in return.  Cry to Allah for the good and the bad.  And Allah will never let you down.  Hand your affairs to Him. He will take care of it better than anyone in heaven and on earth. May Allah ease all your affairs.

You Are Not Yet Barren, Allaah Has Not Forsaken You!

Do never lose hope in Allaah. He ‘Azza wa Jal has not forsaken you. Your time is coming and it’s near bi-dniLlaah. Know, may Allaah have mercy on you, that Allaah sees your tears and pain – He sees your struggles day and night. You have tried your best, from one hospital to another. You have been advised by many folks. Perhaps, you were given everything to take to conceive. Allaah knows the best time for you habeebaty. You are not yet barren, and your joy will come soon bi-dhiniLllah.

Recently, l had an encounter with a female patient who is about 43 years old, behold Allaah has just answered her prayer with a beautiful baby. I was present on her delivery and l thank Allaah on her behalf. Life is a test and of course a struggle. Dunya is a place that makes you laugh in the morning and makes you cry in the evening. We are tested differently and your test is better, little do you know.

Take all opportunities in this month of Ramadan and ask Allaah to wipe your secret tears. Tell Allaah you want to carry your child with your own hands. Seek assistance with prayers and patience. May Allaah grant you the best. May He ‘Azza wa Jall grant you the fruit of the womb.

Oh, Allaah! Put smiles on their faces. Grant them pious children that will be the coolness of their eyes. Ya Rabbal ‘Aalameen.

May 2018!

The Loss of a Child, Indeed an Unforgettable Experience!

Know that your child will be at the door of paradise opening it for you, for indeed it was narrated by Rasulullah Sallallahu alayhin wasalam; the affairs of a man who used to attend his gathering and noticed to be missing due to the loss of his child. It was said to him, which would you prefer, to enjoy the pleasure of dunyah with your child and remain alive or you want to come to the door of paradise tomorrow? The man replied to the latter; meaning that; the lost child would be a means for him to enter paradise.

Our hearts are heavy, we share your pain. The calamity of losing a child is indeed heavy on the chest. Only the mother can describe the pain.

When Rasulullah Sallallahu alayhin Wasalam lost his son Ibrahim he shed tears and grieved:

As narrated by Anas bin Malik in Sahih Bukhari “We went with Allah’s Apostle Sallallahu alayhin wasalam to the blacksmith Abu Saif, and he was the husband of the wet-nurse of Ibrahim (the son of the Prophet). Allah’s Apostle took Ibrahim and kissed him and smelled him and later we entered Abu Saif’s house at that time Ibrahim was in his last breaths, and the eyes of Allah’s Apostle Allahu Alayhi wasalam started shedding tears. ‘Abdur Rahman bin ‘Auf said, “O Allah’s Apostle, even you are weeping!

”He said, “O Ibn ‘Auf, this is mercy. ”Then he wept more and said, “The eyes are shedding tears and the heart is grieved, and we will not say except what pleases our Lord, O Ibrahim! Indeed we are grieved by your separation.” When calamity befalls, during our trials and tribulations, we were advised to cling to what the companions clung to as taught by the most beloved. That was what they clung to at the death of ibn Abdullaah SallaAllahu Alayhim Wasalam. It’s very easy to say, it’s very easy to advise someone to be patient during this kind of trial, l ask that Allah grant us such patience we preach to others during our trials in Dunya.

We all are indebted to Allah the Almighty who has blessed us with the deen of Islam. Allah, who had made us Muslims, upon true guidance. Indeed we may have gone astray. We are advised not to say anything displeasing to Allah Azza Wa Jal when such a trial happens as losing a child. Perhaps, Allah knows what is not apparent to us. Indeed, he knows best. We would be careful not to utter any horrible terrible statements against our Rabb, during this trying period.

Inn Shaa Allah, we would be with those whom we love in the hereafter. In there, there is no separation once we are all granted Jannah. May Allaah distance us from hell and move us close to Jannah. May He forgive us our sins and grant us his mercy.  This life is temporary and shall pass one day. Allaah is indeed more merciful to us and he didn’t wrong know one. Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhin Wasalam along with their companions passed by a woman who was suckling his child. And he asked the companion; do you think that woman could cast his child in hell or perhaps harm him? Their reply was too negative, he RasulluLaah told them Allah is more merciful to his servant than a mother is to her child.

You are indeed not alone, only if you can be more patient. Every soul shall taste death and unto Allaah is our return. We need to continue to seek his pleasure and forgiveness. We ask Allah to grant you the best. May He grant you and the family the fortitude to bear the loss. May Allah make your child your means of entering Jannah. Ya Rabbal Ala’ameen

Dhul-Hijjah 1439AH

Allah -The Most Patient!

Imagine sending Sumayyah to get you a cup of water, while she comes back with an empty cup. Well, you may simply say, she’s just a small little girl. How about you send her sister who is older than her. Perhaps, you will simply say, come here, I’m going to whip your butt today.

Imagine spending all your saved money to send your child to school, only for the child to come back with C’s. Imagine the worst thing someone had done to you; that you had said, l will never forgive you. Imagine, giving space to the one who had carried lotta tales about you. Imagine the one you called a best friend; who instead is a hypocrite by lying about you, behind your back.

Imagine that period when the one who was supposed to stand by you deserted you. Imagine the one whom you have thought you wanted to assist, only for him to say it to your face, and point blank, that you are an idiot. Just imagine and imagine those terrible, horrible moments at work, when someone stepped on your toes and allowed you to spill the salt.

The thought “indeed, Allaah is patient” comes to my mind, and l said to me, Majeedah, you are still lucky to be alive hale and hearty. I said to myself, you haven’t stopped sinning knowingly and unknowingly, yet, Allaah still covers your flaws. I said to myself, what have you been doing with your free time and how prepared and fearful are you towards meeting your Rabb?

I said to myself, “Allaah is indeed patient”. If not for His patience, this life would have come to an end by just one single crime, talkless of multiple crimes we have committed on the land. Allaah is patient but watchful.  He never stops watching me and you. Yet, we are the people who forget, l and you. We are the people who are rooted in sins, l and you, we are the people who are ungrateful to Allah by not seeking repentance anytime we sin.

I can’t imagine being disobedient to You, Oh Allaah! l can’t imagine myself being very forgetful of my meeting with You, Allaah. I can’t imagine not paying full attention to Your warnings. I can’t imagine seeing and hearing from the right to the left, and from near and far, yet, not yielding to Your calls.

I can’t imagine myself being called to account for my sins, from the most concealed to the most apparent. I can’t imagine entering the fire of hell! I can’t imagine many things, yes, many things on the Day of the Greatest Fear!

Oh Allaah, please ease us our affairs and forgive us our sins, indeed your punishment is severe. Do please shower on us Your mercies. Ya Rabbal ‘Aalameen!
