Raise children who know why, not merely children who know what. Purposeful parenting is not simply teaching our children what to do; it is helping them understand why they do it.
Teach your child to pray, but also teach them who they are praying to. Teach them honesty, but explain that Allah sees what people cannot see. Teach them kindness, but remind them that every act of goodness is known to Allah. Teach them responsibility, but let them understand that they will one day be accountable for what Allah entrusted to them.
Our goal should not be to raise children who behave well only when we are watching. We should strive to raise children whose hearts remain connected to Allah even when nobody is watching. Because one day, our voices will no longer be beside them. Our reminders will become memories. Our hands will no longer guide them.
And when that day comes, what will sustain them is not merely what we told them to do, but the faith we helped plant within their hearts.
Parent intentionally.
Teach patiently.
Correct wisely.
Love deeply.
And above all, raise them for Allah.
