When Peace Becomes More Important Than Winning

I was speaking with someone this past week, and we eventually ended up talking about marriage. Apparently, we both agreed that once a marriage reaches a certain stage, the couple should learn to prioritize their happiness over conflict.

They should be more concerned with making each other happy while also thinking about their children’s success and achievements.

Marriage shouldn’t be a war zone where we no longer care about one another, humiliate one another, or intentionally hurt each other. We must learn to put past grudges and grievances in the bin and be willing to move forward, choosing to live with one another honorably.

At a certain point in marriage, peace should become more important than winning an argument, and companionship should matter more than holding on to old grievances.
